Job Overview

The Field Service Manager is accountable for managing the human, financial, and material service resources in a defined geographic area in order to achieve established goals for service quality and response, contract growth, service revenue and gross profit. He/she is accountable for supervising and leading Service Technicians within the region. He/she plans, prioritizes, coordinates and reports on all service-related activities within his/her assigned region.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the scheduling and execution of service for water systems, and maintenance and repair services to Mar Cor Purification customers as assigned.
  • Manage the scheduling and execution of DI and carbon exchange tanks.
  • Provide equipment operation and basic maintenance and repair training to customers as assigned.
  • Provide and maintain proper documentation of all services performed in accordance with defined work instructions.
  • Promote sales of Mar Cor Purification equipment, systems and other products.
  • Maintain assigned inventory of parts and materials.
  • Ensure tools, test equipment and service inventory are managed, calibrated, stored, maintained, moved and utilized in such a way to protect the value of the assets.
  • As required, submit accurate, timely, and complete reports regarding field service activities, issues impacting the business and service performance and results.
  • Monitor, guide, and coach Service Technician productivity, and build strong customer and Sales department relationships.
  • Oversees the installation of C&I systems.

 

MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP 

  • Encourage and empower team members to challenge and implement continuous improvement activities.
  • Manage employee issues through appropriate performance management and appraisal process.
  • Work with Field Service Leadership to identify, advocate and cross-train employees as business needs dictate.
  • Include appropriate people in decision making processes; involves individuals and / or teams in shaping changes that affect them.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews including preparation and delivery.
  • Demonstrates respect for all individuals; embraces and honor diversity and is an effective coach to the team.
  • Conducts business with the highest moral, legal, and ethical standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree ‘or’ a two-year technical degree in electronics, plumbing, or biomedical electronics highly preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the water treatment / repair industry; or equivalent technical plumbing or electrical training.
  • Able to perform skilled work of considerable difficulty. A high degree of initiative and creativity is required due to the complex nature of the situations / conditions of the position.
  • Must have the ability to work independently with little to no day to day supervision.
  • Ability to effectively problem-solve, think clearly and positively in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.
  • Meets deadlines and fulfills commitments.
  • Exhibits enthusiasm and an ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to communicate well with co-workers and customers. Ability to lead, direct, and mentor and supervise a team of technicians.
  • Exhibits care and strong attention to detail.
