Job Overview

Plans, manages and supervises the activities of the Cuba laboratory and performs standard biological, microbiological and chemical tests and production in all areas of laboratory to assure their delivery in an accurate and timely fashion using proper safety precautions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage Laboratory operations by directing and coordinating all activities consistent with goals, objectives and policies.
  • Drive quality of delivered products and services. Assist in the formulation and ensure implementation of policies, procedures and programs.
  • Tests new and improved laboratory methods and procedures. Prepares laboratory notes, charts and graphs and writes up results of examinations. Keeps accurate daily records. Performs related duties as requested
  • Develop and lead staff by active coaching and training while cultivating a collaborative team culture, creative problem solving and results driven operation.
  • Participate in recruiting, retaining and developing top talent.
  • Review production schedules, materials and workforce resources.
  • Supervises purchase of supplies and maintains equipment inventory
  • Ensure that safety and environmental programs are in place and managed effectively.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in business, Biology, or a related field.
  • Five to Ten years of supervisory experience in a laboratory operation.
  • Strong project management skills required.
  • Strong analytical skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including employee development, coaching and oral and written communication.
  • Team building a must.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Some travel required.
