Job Overview

The Distribution Support Specialist (DSS) is responsible for driving incremental sales through direct selling efforts in the physician office/primary care market – with a focus on Community Health Centers (CHCs), physician groups and procedure based physician practices. The DSS will support the corporate account management team to onboard, in-service and convert strategic Acute Care and ASC accounts. This person will be responsible for cultivating relationships with distributor reps with the primary objective of selling. This position will communicate extensively by phone to support and interact with both distributors and end-user customers.

Main Responsibilities

  • Drives incremental sales of Crosstex and SPS brand products through direct selling efforts with a focus on CHCs, physician groups and procedure based physician practices.
  • Makes a minimum of 25-30 customer touches (outbound/inbound phone calls) per day.
  • Utilizes existing customer databases and distributor tracings to make targeted outbound sales calls with the primary objective to upsell additional products.
  • Fields incoming distributor rep calls for product questions, pricing, availability, etc.
  • Fields incoming physician office/primary care end-user calls for product questions, pricing, availability, etc., using this as opportunity to upsell.
  • Assists Corporate Account Management team with the onboarding, in-servicing and conversion of Acute Care, ASC and Physician Office accounts, including working with appropriate distributor to load products and pricing.
  • Assists National Account Manager and Director of Sales with distributor rep product trainings when appropriate.
  • Takes the lead on end-user call projects with the objective of identifying new sales opportunities.
  • Responsible for making mail-in customer re-order calls, while using this as an opportunity to upsell additional products.
  • Updates distributor and end-user interactions in CRM database when appropriate.
  • Trains customers and distributor reps on Crosstex and SPS product lines.
  • Uses our value-added solutions to educate customers and distributor reps on best practices for sterilization
  • Completes any other tasks requested by members of the management team.


Measured Success:

  • Meets or exceeds minimum daily call requirements
  • Increased sales through authorized primary care medical distributors
  • Positive feedback from distributor reps and end-users
  • Ability to upsell customers to increase the breadth of products being purchased
  • Compliance with departmental and company policy & procedures
  • Meeting deadlines and completing tasks in the assigned timeframe.


  • Minimum of 2-year Associates Degree required
  • BA or BS degree in Business Management or equivalent experience preferred
  • Willingness and ability to travel, including overnight – 15%
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM databases
  • Strong Customer Service skills required
