Job Overview

Responsible for carrying out the defined sales strategy in the Texas based region based out of the Dallas TX orOklahoma City/Ok area for Crosstex/SPSmedical products to hospitals, small hospital systems, Ambulatory Surgery Centers and Clinic’s while working with our distribution partners in assigned geographic territory.

Call points will include, Sterile Processing, Surgical Services, GI labs, Ambulatory Surgery Centers and Materials Management for successful conversion opportunities as well as supporting distribution salesforce. Emphasis is on gaining new Crosstex/SPSmedical customers by utilizing existing national GPO agreements, current customer and distributor relationships and ensuring high quality service and support both to obtain and support the sale, following departmental policies and procedures, with the greatest emphasis on sales growth. Must be able to manage time and workload effectively to ensure all current customers and prospective customers are serviced while maintaining and up-to-date level of product and procedural knowledge Includes account management in assigned territories.

Main Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate with customers to develop, solicit and close new accounts utilizing existing national GPO contracts, membership lists in assigned territory.
  • Maintain an increase to existing customers in assigned territory.
  • Responsible for sales quotations, sample requests, as well as appropriate follow-up opportunities activities to generate the sales in territory.
  • Work with Regional Directors and Account Executives within GPO’s to open up opportunities in assigned territory.
  • Coordinates efforts with corporate team members to support customers in increase sales.
  • Works with local and national distribution to service accounts.
  • Handles customer inquiries, technical questions and/or complaints by telephone.
  • Strategically attends state, regional and national conferences and travels to designed territory when necessary (approved in advance)
  • Educates customers on best practices for sterilization using consultative selling methods.
  • Follows-up with website and trade show leads to generate new business in sales territory.
  • Identifies multi-hospital systems, ASC group’s opportunities, interacting with Director of Sales to develop plan of action.
  • Has project management responsibilities as directed by manager (coordinating ASC groups, appropriately identified IDN opportunities, acts as primary contact for trade shows, special projects, etc)
  • Reviews and uses sales tools such as tracings and direct customer accounts for successful account management & retention.
  • Supports distribution in assigned territory to bring product into stock for new customer conversion, pricing requests etc.
  • Ability to speak on sterilization and infection control topics to local and regional audiences (both 60, 90 and 180minute programs)
  • Demonstrates ability to perform product in-services on all Crosstex/SPSmedical products to surgery centers, hospitals (both sterile processing and OR departments)
  • Involvement with Local CS and SGNA chapters and where possible attend meetings.
  • Will maintain all requirements necessary for vender credentialing and physical access to customers.
  • Invests in professional growth both inside and outside the office to become an expert/top producer in the organization.
  • Offers ideas and suggestions for new literature, brochures, poster, advertisements, in-servicing tools necessary to continue promoting Crosstex/SPSmedical products and brands to customers.
  • Performs other related duties or assignments as requested.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree in business or related Healthcare field
  • 3+ Years of sales experience in a related field
  • Strong familiarity with acute care and surgery center markets.
  • Proven success in achieving sales objectives in a variety of distribution structures and product segments.
  • Understands various sales strategies in order to capitalize on opportunities and competitive threats.
  • Able to travel extensively to provide customer support and Sales Consultant development.
  • Consistent history of establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with internal and external customers, and teamwork with internal support personnel.
  • Strong presentation skills and confidence.
  • High level of proficiency in relevant software programs including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and automated sales forms/tools.
