Job Overview

Provide leadership to employees and promote employee involvement to produce the highest possible quality product in the most efficient and cost effective manner. Make sure all materials are available as needed and all equipment is operating properly and safely. Provide communication between departments to facilitate smooth and orderly flow of material product.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supervise production employees. Train employees on Continuous Improvement Process, 6S, Visual Management, Standard Work, Lean Metrics, and Kaizen. Ensure that improvements are being completed and sustained. Promote and support self- directed work teams.

 

  • Plan production workload / efficiencies. Ensure customer and schedule demands are met.  Deliver a high level of quality product and follow GMP guidelines.

 

  • Review and take action on production and operating reports to resolve operational and manufacturing problems to ensure optimal labor efficiencies and utilization to maximize production output.

 

  • Train, coach and effectively communicate with employees to assure safe operation of equipment and that training records are maintained so that procedure guidelines are followed.

 

  • Initiate and follow up on maintenance actions to keep machinery operational and minimize down time.

 

  • Maintain proper lot traceability to ensure accurate inventory levels.

 

  • Determine, track, and communicate key performance indicators (Ex: Cost, Quality, Delivery, Safety) to employees daily.

 

  • Use key performance measures to find a better way of doing things through Kaizen and other Lean tools.

 

  • Work with other functional groups to continuously improve in the area of cost, quality, delivery GMP compliance and safety.

 

  • Work without direct supervision and perform other duties as assigned.

 

  • Perform hiring, coaching, discipline, and performance reviews with employees.

 

  • Communicate, adhere, and enforce company policies and procedures.

 

  • Work with software programs within MS Office, ADP and M2K,

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent and ability to perform multiple tasks.

 

  • Three to five years manufacturing and/or supervisory experience. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing/continuous improvement.

 

  • Management or supervisory training along with good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write legibly, read and speak English, and perform basic math functions as well as computer skills.
