Job Overview

The Sr. Global Supply Chain Analyst position contributes to the success of the company by planning supply and deploying inventory to achieve financial goals as well as customer service levels. The Sr. Global Supply Chain Analyst position requires an individual with a great understanding of the business environment as well as detailed knowledge of Planning Software software suite. Some of the responsibilities of a Sr. Global Supply Chain Analyst include: establish and maintain replenishment plans, review/resolve exceptions found by planning software, work with inventory planners, report problems and possible solutions, and contribute to the supply chain teams efforts in reaching results.

Main Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the demand planner to create supply plans and will be an important member of the Sales, Operations, and Inventory Planning team
  • Provides forward visibility into all replenishment requirements to minimize stock outs and inventory surprises
  • Creates and maintains inventory pipeline reporting for various levels of the organization, combining SAP reporting with Microsoft Excel.
  • Establishes and maintains business rules for lead time, safety stock, and the supply planning cycle
  • Reviews and resolves exceptions: stock out, stock low, and excess
  • Identifies potential inventory obsolescence situations
  • Provides forward visibility into all production requirements to prevent short-term issues
  • Communicates problems and possible solutions to appropriate level
  • Creates and provides distribution center inventory requirements
  • Maintains the distribution network, safety stock levels, and improves customer service by making product available to meet the demands throughout the distribution network
  • Monitors and balances inventory levels across the network and communicates shortages to demand planning and customer service
  • Develops replenishment plans based on business rules
  • Possesses knowledge of all inventory locations and be able to source products from alternate locations to meet demand
  • Trains and supports new users on supply planning
  • Establishes, documents and improves Global Supply Chain metrics
  • Tests and monitors various inventory strategies and determine impact on customer service and inventory investment. Works with demand planners to select new strategies.
  • Consolidates supply information to support business reporting requirements

Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of relevant professional supply chain experience.
  • Demonstrates deep end-to-end supply chain knowledge
  • Understands the linkages between distribution requirements planning and other supply chain processes such as demand planning, production planning and scheduling, and transportation.
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Utilizes business knowledge and mathematical skill to creatively evaluate situations and adopt a “big picture” approach implementing solutions.
  • Understand distribution strategies, products, markets, and customers, preferably in a medical device industry
  • Advanced computer skills including entire Microsoft Office Suite
  • APICS certification preferred
  • Familiar with transaction systems and decision-support tools, database creation and spreadsheet manipulation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to tailor the message to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work in a complex matrix environment and receive cooperation and input from people not under direct supervision.
