ENDOSCOPY

Endoscopy procedure disposables include single-use valves and irrigation tubing. Medical device reprocessing systems, disinfectants, detergents and other supplies are used to disinfect high-level endoscopes. This segment is operated through MEDIVATORS.

 

WATER PURIFICATION AND FILTRATION

Water purification systems for dialysis facilities, including hemodialysis dialyzer and reprocessing systems, as well as sterilants and filtration products. This segment is operated through Mar Cor Purification, Inc. and MEDIVATORS.

 

HEALTHCARE DISPOSABLES

Single-use, infection prevention products used primarily in the dental market including face masks, sterilization pouches, towels and bibs, tray covers, saliva ejectors, germicidal wipes, plastic cups and disinfectants. This segment is operated through Crosstex International, Inc.

Job Overview

The Senior Director, Global Real Estate and Facilities is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing building operations and services, including but not limited to corporate real estate leases, move management, materials procurement, and vendor/service contract management; serving as the district representative in planning and developing facilities and new construction ensuring that jobs are completed efficiently and within regulatory guidelines and projected deadlines. Primary responsibilities include daily facility operations, preparing and managing facility masterplans and budgets, including space, supplies and personnel resources.

This person must demonstrate an ability to standardize processes and manage suppliers, service providers and staff to execute work activities, projects and operations. The successful candidate will possess excellent negotiation skills and leadership qualities. The Senior Director, Global Real Estate and Facilities must understand the interdependencies between Cantel Medical business needs and facility functionality and apply that knowledge in cost effectively meeting those needs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with others (e.g. executive leadership, departmental personnel, organizations through the Cantel businesses, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and/or programs
  • Develops long and short range facilities and maintenance plans/programs (e.g. facilities master plans, energy management plans, production equipment utilization/maintenance programs, annual budget, etc.) for the purpose of budgeting, forecasting and integrated business planning
  • Directs projects (e.g. site repairs/construction, preventive maintenance, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring completion within established time frames, project design and budget
  • Monitors fund balances of assigned programs and related financial activity for the purpose of ensuring that expenses are within budget limits and fiscal practices are followed
  • Develop and standardize best practices across all properties as it pertains to facility maintenance, equipment repair, utility systems and supply purchasing
  • Performs due diligence and post M&A activities to ensure accurate assessment and remediation for property, plant, equipment and environmental health of target locations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in identifying property requirements for the purposes of lease, buy or divest; engage the appropriate real estate professional(s) and manage expectations until project closure
  • Review and approve site improvement projects for appropriate specifications, costs, quote package, contractor selection and contract terms
  • Manage EHS activities to ensure facilities meet regulatory guidelines and in refining emergency preparedness plans and programs
  • Recommends new hires, promotions, termination and transfers for the purpose of maintaining staffing needs and productivity of the work force
  • Researches new products, laws, regulations, etc., for the purpose of recommending purchases, contracts and maintaining organization wide services
  • Provides oversight and manages real estate development, acquisition, and disposition in accordance with organizational guidelines and expectations
  • Provide leadership and direction for procurement activities, ensuring that facility space, furniture, supplies, equipment and services are purchased at the most competitive market price
  • Develop project development process at all phases:  Inception (scope, budget and schedule development), design, bid and negotiation, construction (budget and scheduled status)
  • Track all facilities related project budgets and schedules to ensure that all are meeting goals and milestones
  • Maintain property database to manage real estate and insurance renewal processes, and provide timely budget advice for P & L and CAPEX financial planning
  • Facilities master plan, budget and oversee construction projects, and update AutoCAD plans as needed
  • Develop specifications, select and qualify suppliers, award and monitor construction and maintenance services contracts, and conduct periodic reviews with contractors and service providers
  • Ensure facility plant systems, including grounds and security, are maintained in good, cost effective working order
  • Plan, schedule, and manage contractors and personnel performing maintenance activities, and monitor to ensure work is performed as contracted
  • Review quotes and negotiate pricing with suppliers and service providers, and approve based on cost, quality and delivery competitiveness
  • Ensure compliance with local and International standards to promote facility security and staff health and safety
  • Develop and promote environmental stewardship consistent with best practices to reduce, reuse and recycle resources to eliminate waste and control costs
  • Perform other duties and projects as necessary, including hands-on maintenance and assembly activity
  • Directs and facilitates the implementation of Lean principles throughout the facilities and maintenance organizations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience; IFMA (FMP, SFP and/or CFM) a plus
  • 8-10 years of experience in facilities operations, building management, engineering or construction;
  • International, multi-site experience required
  • Must have sound understanding and practical experience in Lean methods, understanding process flow and ability to facilitate 3P and seven alternatives processes.
  • MS Windows/Outlook proficiency a must, as well as a working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Ability to design, plan and manage construction projects and office moves
  • Understanding of concepts and practical experience with planning, scheduling, project management, preventive maintenance, and reliability-centered maintenance philosophy
  • Ability to prioritize conflicts and effectively manage multiple projects and assignments under time constraints and changing priorities
  • Hands on and/or management experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security systems
  • Knowledge of all federal, state, and local codes and ordinances pertinent to facilities planning, design, and maintenance desired
  • Experience in construction management and have working knowledge in relevant topics (eg. architecture, engineering, legal contracts, financing, environmental conditions, public approvals)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building relationships at all levels of internal and external organizations
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective team member
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Travel as needed to fulfil responsibilities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 33% sitting, 33% walking, and 34% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
