  • Main Responsibilities

    Drive continuous improvement within Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning Process (SIOP) through focus on the following key areas:

    1. Effectively manage procurement of raw material components, finished goods and sub-contract services for use at all Cantel UK sites
    2. Identify gaps in current supply chain strategy and delivery, identify opportunities for improvement, research alternative solutions and drive implementation of changes
    3. Work with existing suppliers and contractors to raise quality standards and negotiate improved costs and service levels
    4. Support the development and enhancement of the warehouse operation on site through close working with the Warehouse Supervisor
    5. Support the UK and export distribution processes assisting with improvements where required
    6. Identify opportunities and successfully implement improvements to the material flow within the operation
    7. Identify opportunities for improvement in supply chain admin processes and drive successful implementation of these improvements
    8. Support Manufacturing and Design teams in UK and Europe in sourcing new components, sub-assemblies and sub-contract opportunitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Work with Operations Director and management team to develop cohesive, performing and balanced Supply Chain Team for UK
    2. Proactively support Sales and Purchasing teams to minimize supply chain risks through improved forecasting and effective supply chain management
    3. Use KPI’s within purchasing and warehouse functions to drive improvements in performance and to report results back to Senior Management Team on a regular basis
    4. Ensure purchase and works orders are raised to ensure compliance with customer and service requirements, driving improvements where appropriate
    5. Identify further areas for improvement across the function and prioritise these in conjunction with business objectives, ensuring the function is resourced appropriately.
    6. Support the development of one single warehouse team in UK and accountable for achieving service requirements of both internal and external customers, while minimizing risk of damage, excess and obsolescence.
    7. Work with internal and 3rd Party Warehouse teams to improve process flow and service levels
    8. Work closely with QA and Design teams to raise conformity of supply to agreed specifications
    9. Build strong working relationships and promote a positive working relationship with both internal and external stakeholders across the team
    10. Train and share knowledge with other team members as required, ensuring there are no single points of dependency with in the team 
    11.  
    12. Follow processes as documented in the Quality Management System and to follow Health and Safety requirements in the workplace
    13. Build, lead and manage a UK Supply Chain team that is aligned and working to Cantel’s strategic objectives. Ensure team members are motivated, capable, fit for purpose and performing.

    Qualifications

    Experience and Technical skills

      1. Experience in use of metrics to identify improvement opportunities, understand root cause and drive improvements across Supply Chain
      2. Ability to communicate at all levels within Supply Chain Team and engage with cross-functional teams to implement change
    • Ability to manage workload and conflicting priorities to ensure deadlines are consistently met 

     

    1. Significant management experience required, including experience of the full people management cycle.
    2. Relevant experience in Supply Chain functions within Manufacturing and Distribution environment
    3. Purchasing or Supply Chain qualification or working towards one
    4. Numerate with good IT skillsPersonal attributes required:

    7. Ability to work cross-functionally to drive improvement across value streams
