    Endoscopy procedure disposables include single-use valves and irrigation tubing. Medical device reprocessing systems, disinfectants, detergents and other supplies are used to disinfect high-level endoscopes. This segment is operated through MEDIVATORS.


    Life Sciences 

    Water purification systems for dialysis facilities, including hemodialysis dialyzer and reprocessing systems, as well as sterilants and filtration products. This segment is operated through Mar Cor Purification, Inc. and MEDIVATORS.



    Single-use, infection prevention products used primarily in the dental market including face masks, sterilization pouches, towels and bibs, tray covers, saliva ejectors, germicidal wipes, plastic cups and disinfectants. This segment is operated through Crosstex International, Inc.

    Job Overview

    As part of the Cantel Endoscopy Product Continuation Team, lead design-related efforts to effect product changes as needed for commercialized products. This includes the division’s full portfolio of electromechanical, procedural and filtration products.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Develop high-value performance improvements for existing Cantel Endoscopy equipment lines
    • Drive cost, manufacturing and service improvements through design of mechanical components and processes
    • Develop detailed designs and documentation for use by manufacturing and technical support personnel
    • Partner with Franchise Management to ensure effective definition of Customer Requirements and translation into comprehensive product specifications.
    • Plan, coordinate and document experiments in technical area of expertise to ensure that defined product requirements are met.
    • Prepare technical reports and presentations to, and for the use of, engineering management and senior management.
    • Prepare and communicate data and information on product updates to field and technical service personnel.
    • Ensure that all design activities carried out in the area of technical expertise are in compliance with Cantel design controls pertinent to regulatory requirements in all key markets
    • Design and document new mechanical components for Cantel Endoscopy equipment and accessories using SolidWorks or ProE/Creo
    • Provide direction, mentoring and coaching to junior staff on technical aspects of electromechanical product development
    • Conduct or direct performance testing to evaluate new materials and components. Identify new vendors, as needed.
    • Prepare engineering change orders along with all required documentationEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR POSITION:
    • BS or MS Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or related engineering discipline.
    • Minimum 6 years’ experience in design, testing and verification/validation of electromechanical equipment
    • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics
    • Demonstrated ability to use SolidWorks or ProE/Creo, Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with Minitab a strong plus
    • Experience in a medical design or regulated environment a strong plus



    This position includes occasional directing of technicians as part of regular project work.



    The candidate should have the ability to read, analyze and interpret technical information or reports in area of expertise. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information and test results in written and verbal form required. Second language a strong plus.



    The candidate should have the ability to understand and apply advanced mathematical concepts and basic statistical techniques.



    The candidate should have the ability to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions, as well as to assist senior staff in interpreting market and customer needs and reducing them to technical targets.
